Illuminated Letters

A trip to the Cloisters Museum in New York in 2008 inspired me to learn how to do Medieval manuscript illumination, particularly capital letters with gold leaf. The artwork for the Ketubah, a Jewish marriage certificate, was done for the daughter of a good friend. After I made the art, a Hebrew calligrapher filled in the text. It was framed and displayed at the wedding.
